Our Story: From National Reach to Louisville Roots

NLMS was founded in 1982 as National Maintenance Company, providing lighting services to K-Mart stores nationwide. What started as a small operation quickly grew into a trusted partner for retailers, lighting retrofit firms, manufacturers, and property managers.

In 2024, founder Jerri Merrill welcomed Sandy Woods as a partner and relocated the headquarters to Louisville, Kentucky, marking a new chapter for the company. Today, as a certified Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) partner, we proudly represent women-led leadership in the electrical and lighting industry while continuing to serve clients across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

Our evolution from a single retail partnership to a full-service provider of lighting, electrical, and solar solutions reflects the same values we began with: honesty, craftsmanship, and genuine care for people.
